My name is Emma, I'm 12 years old and I live in Oakmont. When I think about Japan, I want to find out about what other countries are doing to stay safe. When I wrote a story about Japan for R.E.A.P., I learned that Germany is going to stop using nuclear energy. The plan was to do this over 25 years, but the nuclear disaster in Japan sped up the process. America uses a similar amount of nuclear energy, so we could very easily follow in Germany's footsteps. France, on the other hand, uses nuclear energy for 70% of its energy, and has no intention of changing. If they had a nuclear disaster, all of Europe could be affected. What does the future hold?
