Hear Me brings together a team of organizations in the Pittsburgh area and surrounding counties for one shared goal - giving our kids a voice through media to create positive change in the world. By working together, we strive to bring great progress and success to the overall effort.

TEAM HEAR ME: CREATE LAB

The CREATE Lab's mission is to design, create, and disseminate robotic curricula and technologies that enable diverse peoples to make significant civic contributions to our quality of life. The CREATE Lab develops numerous projects that utilize various technologies to educate and reach out to our communities. All of the projects at the CREATE Lab are grant funded by supporting local foundations. Projects include Charge Car, Gigapan and Robot Diaries. The CREATE Lab, is run by Director, Illah Nourbakhsh, Professor of Robotics at Carnegie Mellon.

Hear Me is the latest project to be produced and directed through the CREATE Lab. Hear Me is its own unique endeavor to the Lab being a project created, designed and piloted from the ground up.

The CREATE Lab believes the Hear Me system has the ability to achieve a large impact both regionally and nationally on behalf of the kids in our communities and beyond.

Meet the CREATE Hear Me Team:

Jessica KaminskyJessica directs Hear Me's Campaigns, manages partner relationships, and coordinates individual Hear Me projects. Most of her work is connecting students' stories with associated advocates or decision-makers, but her favorite part of her work is meeting and talking with students. Jessica graduated from the College of Wooster before pursuing her M.A. in Teaching at the University of Pittsburgh, Project Director
Jessica PachutaJessica joined Hear Me in June 2011 after managing Youth Media programs at Steeltown Entertainment Project. She studied Film & Video Production and Applied French at Pennsylvania State University where she interned at WPSU. As part of the Hear Me team, Jessica manages outreach events, partnerships, media and video content and overall helping putting the pieces together. Jessica has worked on several independent and studio film productions, enjoys volunteering for local film festivals, working with kids and teens to use media and video responsibly, and fighting the good fight. , Project Director
Ryan HoffmanRyan supports Hear Me projects and campaigns through editing, interviews and campaigns. Ryan enjoys learning new perspectives through student interviews and discussions. Ryan's background is in journalism with writings featured in such publications as NEXTpittsburgh. Ryan has bachelor's in journalism and a masters in Public Administration, Urban and Regional Affairs., Project Manager
Alex WoodringAlex has a background in both audio production and journalism, spending time at an Ohio newspaper and teaching audio at Propel Schools. Alex produces the Hear Me Podcast which is released the last Friday of every month. Alex also supports Hear Me campaigns and other projects., Podcast Producer
Paul DilleGraduating from Carnegie Mellon University after studying Information Systems and Computer Science, Paul joined the CREATE Lab as a research programmer, where he utilizes his passion to code to work on projects that bring positive change to the world. As lead web developer for the Hear Me project, Paul enjoys being able to combine his programming knowledge with his desire to help children. In his spare time, Paul is an avid film buff, likes reading outdoors, enjoys jogging and loves to imagine his eventual retirement to Tahiti, where he hopes to sell coconuts on the beach. , Project Programmer
