Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
In Allegheny County, public school students were issued more than 27,000 out-of-school suspensions and 82 expulsions in the 2011-2012 academic year (Safe Schools Report 2011-12: Allegheny County). This is roughly 5% (6,813) of the county’s 145,537 students. Join Hear Me and the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN - www.pattan.net) to help raise awareness about alternative strategies for schools.
